David McBride has loved drawing since early childhood. David was born in Norman, Oklahoma in 1964. He graduated from Harrah High School in 1982 and is working on an Associates Degree in Multimedia and Web Design at Rose State College.
David currently enjoys life on five acres in the country side and with the fresh air has plenty of inspiration for his artwork. While he specializes in works using graphite and colored pencil, he commonly tries new techniques and from time to time works a little water color and pen and ink into the mix. He most enjoys drawing portraits and projects with a medieval theme.
“I’ve always loved to draw and colored pencil seems to be the most versatile form of media for me. The fact that you can create a photo realistic likeness is incredible. I am hooked! It’s a wonderful feeling that after you have put so much time and energy into a project, you can stand back and enjoy the results for the rest of your life.”
David is a member of the Mid-Del Art Guild in Midwest City, OK. Also, he is the president and founder of Oklahoma District Chapter 221 of The National Colored Pencil Society of America. He has worked in this position for nearly four years. He is also the web master for both non-profit organizations.
David's hobbies include woodworking, restoring his 1974 Dodge Charger, drawing and creating computer graphic art, History and SciFi Channels, creating chain mail armor, and watching O.U. Football. He is also interested in learning the basic skills that were tossed aside when people began trusting their lives with technology.
